The meal of the Year

Thursday, March 25, 2004

We decided that on our last night at Grand Bahama Island we would go out with a BANG!
You gotta end a honeymoon on an awesome note...
So...we went to The Ferry House Restaurant only the most expensive restaraunt on the island, but well worth it! Check out their website. It was probably the best meal we've had since we ate at the Jasmine in the Bellagio in Vegas.
It was incredible to say the least.

Then we proceeded to gamble the rest of our money away at the Isle of Capri Casino playing a new poker game (new to me) that has a blackjack twist to it...pretty interesting:
It's called Caribbean Stud Poker: Everyone gets dealt five cards including the dealer. The dealer will display their last card to everyone. There's nine players on the table but you all play against the dealer. The dealer will pay your ante back if you beat him and he has something lower than a King and an Ace. If the dealer has more than a King and an Ace, the dealer "qualifies", then if you beat the dealer he/she will pay back your ante and anything you bet on your hand before the cards were displayed. Pretty fun.

Anyway we had a blast that night!

Feelin' Sharky?

Wednesday, March 24, 2004

In our recent trip to the Bahamas for our honeymoon, we witnessed some shark feeding going on at a restaurant we dined at called Pier One, it was scrumptious!

The feeding is done at night, that way when they shine the huge spotlights into the clear Bahamian water, you can see the sharks clearly. We saw a few small sharks come around for the treats and then we saw a huge ten foot Tiger Shark start feeding...ya! I love sharks...I can't wait to go snorkeling with the leopard sharks off the coast of La Jolla Shores in the summer.

Take this quiz and be honest about your feelings on sharks...the correct answer is given as soon as you click on your pick.

My Buddy

Tuesday, March 23, 2004

Remember back in the early 90's maybe late 80's there was a doll for toddlers called "My Buddy" for the boys and then "Kid Sister" for the girls? They had a really catchy song in the commercials..."My buddy, my buddy...my buddy, my buddy...my buddy and me...". The doll was supposed to be an imaginary friend, it was pretty big too, could've passed for a small child... Anyway, I think that was a cool thing for toddlers to have a friend that would always go anywhere they went and want to play anything they wanted to play; even though their friend couldn't talk back (But then again toddlers aren't much for conversations).

Well, I have my own personal real-life "My Buddy"...my wife. It is great to be married and have someone that is there with you all the time! Someone who can accompany you everywhere and can do anything with you. Someone who will always be there through thick and thin...for the fun times and the down times...someone you can talk to about anything and anyone and anywhere. A buddy who is willing to taste the foods you like, play the games you play, watch the movies you like and vice-versa. It's wonderful! I love Tatiana!

San Diego Storm Damage

Thursday, March 04, 2004

Storm Watch - Southern California: With all the news on TV lately about the sub zero weather and snow that the east coast and upstate NY areas are experiencing, we shouldn't forget that Southern California has it's share of devastating weather also.

Here's a picture illustrating the excessive damage caused to a home from a west coast storm that passed through the San Diego area a couple of days ago. It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take our way of life for granted!!!

Warning: The picture is quite graphic and may not be suitable for all viewers.

The Passion

Wednesday, March 03, 2004

Even though I cried twice during the movie, there were a few things that kept me from really connecting emotionally(crying four+ times) with the film:
1.-The woman behind me kicking my seat during the whole movie.
2.-The stinkin' subtitles.
3.-Sniffling and crying noises all around me.
4.-The Demonic child crying out loud during the movie (for about 10 minutes the parent would not walk out with the child).
5.-Monica Belluci as Mary Magdalene.
6.-All the over-the-counter-drugs in my fever infested body.

Must watch it again...at home with Tatiana, no phone, no nothing.

...And Counting...

Three more days and I will no longer live with myself, but with Tatiana...I can't wait.
Wow! Don't know how I feel...excited, afraid, happy, nervous, freaked out, I don't know? Maybe it's because of all the drugs in my system trying to fight off a nasty microscopic enemy that has invaded my blood stream...check him out here.
This was my breakfast today:
-Vitamin C 1000 mg
-Acetaminophen 650 mg
-Pseudoephedrine HCl 60 mg
-Zinc 50mg
-500 Echinacea mg
-O.J. 15oz
-Cinammon roll
